How Does Recognition Reinforce DEI in the Workplace?
Gallup and Workhuman research shows that authentic recognition impacts DEI outcomes. Employees who feel properly recognized are four times more likely to view their workplace as inclusive and seven times more likely to see it as equitable. However, when recognition is lacking, only a small percentage feel their workplace is equitable or inclusive. Authentic recognition, based on understanding employees’ personal interests and motivations, boosts a sense of belonging, especially for Black and Hispanic employees. It’s essential for organizations to ensure recognition is equitable and frequent to retain diverse talent and reduce turnover.
