Payscale’s 2023 survey reveals that 47% of employees expect remote work to continue post-pandemic, with the inability to work remotely increasing intent to leave by 14%. While 32% of workplaces are hybrid and 18% are remote-first or fully remote, traditional offices are shrinking. Although 91% of organizations see workplace flexibility as key to talent strategy, many still don't survey employees on remote preferences. Pay strategies are evolving, with a shift from headquarters-based pay to geographic pay strategies, particularly in larger organizations with distributed workforces.
