First Insight’s 2022 Back-to-School Footwear Shopper Survey, based on 691 families, reveals that most plan to buy 2–3 pairs per child, spending between \$100 and \$200 in total. Despite inflation, 67% of families said they would do more online shopping due to gas prices, and 58% expect to buy most shoes online going forward. Social media, especially Facebook and Instagram, is key to shopping decisions for higher-income families. While 41% of shoppers expect to pay under \$60 per pair, the willingness to pay over \$100 has jumped 15% from 2021, showing shifting value perceptions.
