What’s Eroding Digital Trust?
Thales’ Consumer Digital Trust report shows that confidence in online services is eroding due to data breaches, excessive data collection, and bad bots that damage user experience. Sixty-three percent of consumers believe brands place too much responsibility on them for protecting personal data, while 19% have experienced data compromise and over 10% had financial data stolen. Top reasons for brand abandonment include demanding too much personal information, poor online support, and misuse of personal data. Bad bots further frustrate 33% of users by manipulating pricing and purchases. To rebuild trust, brands must communicate transparently, simplify protection measures, and demonstrate stronger privacy commitments.
