Owned and operated by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC), Salt River Fields is the new Spring Training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies baseball franchises. Salt River Fields is the first Major League Baseball Spring Training facility built on Native American land. The $100 million complex was opened in February 2011 and has completed its first Spring Training season this year. The complex consists of separate training facilities and clubhouses accommodating each team as well as an 11,000-seat central stadium, 12 practice fields, and a variety of concessions areas.
