Quadrac Co., Ltd. launched Q-move, Japan’s first cloud-based contactless credit card payment platform for transportation, using Thales payShield HSM and CipherTrust Tokenization to ensure secure and compliant MaaS operations. The Thales HSM protected cryptographic keys for DUKPT communication, while tokenization minimized PCI DSS audit scope and costs. This enabled safe, efficient fare payments via Visa contactless cards across buses and railways. The system achieved PCI DSS certification, reduced operational expenses, and simplified deployment, helping transport operators adopt low-cost, high-security digital payment services and improve convenience for domestic and inbound travelers.
