New York Data Collection Project Description: IRD has worked with the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) on Trac Monitoring Systems. IRD has installed four types of Trac Data Collection sites including Continuous Count, Automatic Vehicle Classication (AVC), Weigh-in-Motion (WIM), and Permanent Short Count, as well as provided the overall repair and maintenance services for the sites. NYSDOT collects, summarizes, and interprets information about trac traveling on the State’s Highway System. The data is used to assess transportation needs and highway infrastructure performance, as well as to develop highway planning and programming recommendations.
