New Jersey Data Collection Project Description: IRD has installed Virtual Weigh Stations and Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) Data Collection Systems in the State of New Jersey. These systems areused by the New Jersey State Police and New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) to automatically screen commercial vehicle trac based on gross vehicle weights, axle weights, and dimensions throughout the State. All equipment is interfaced with IRD’s state-of- the-art iSINC Controller Electronics. IRD also provided real time access for New Jersey State Police as well as historical date for research and planning purposes. These systems reduce congestion in and around weigh stations while providing driving time and fuel savings to compliant carriers to facilitate more ecient movement of freight.
