The site was formerly used as an allotment area. The initial phase of works was to carry out site investigation work including desk study and intrusive site investigation. The investigation works highlighted the problem of asbestos and heavy metal contamination within the sites underlying soils. In this case the site constraints and excess soil levels meant these soils had to be removed from site to licensed waste disposal facility.
