KKB GROUP INNOVATIVE REGENERATION SERVICES In late 2012 KKB Remediation Limited won a competitive tender to carry out the decommissioning of three Semi Buried Bulk Fuel Installation tanks and the removal of 2 km of below ground fuel pipeline at an operational army airbase. The scope of works was initially to locate all below ground services to ensure that no disruption was caused to the airbase and its runway which facilitates Army Helicopters and Heavy Transporter Aircraft. The tanks to be decommissioned ranged in size from 300,000 gallons to 500,000 gallons. The pipeline was 150mm in diameter and crossed the runway and taxiways at several locations.
