The Facility In 1989, Demkolec B.V. was founded by the Dutch Power Au- thority N.V., S.E.P ., to execute the first integrated coal gasifica - tion combined cycle (ICGCC) power plant. For the gasification process, Demkolec selected Shell. The plant, the world’s largest, is located next to the existing Maascentrale power station in Buggenum, municipality of Haelen the Netherlands.
