The 2022 Thales Data Threat Report for Europe and the Middle East reveals that only 19% of organizations know where their data is stored, and just 23% encrypt 60% or more of their sensitive cloud data. Malware and ransomware were the leading causes of increased security attacks, with 33% reporting ransomware incidents. About 54% of respondents said over 40% of their sensitive cloud data is encrypted, and multi-cloud adoption continues to grow. Zero Trust plays a key role, with 46% applying its concepts and 36% integrating it extensively. Concerns about quantum computing and remote work security remain high.
