The Productivity Shift: AI and the Modern Marketer
Grammarly’s 2025 report says marketers are eager AI adopters (86% use it) but least AI-fluent (5%). Marketing is the most communication-heavy function—~42 hours/week spent communicating—yet teams lose 4.6 hours to poor communication and 7.5 to performative busywork weekly. Most see gains from AI (reduced workload 92%, higher productivity 91%, creativity 91%, better communication 87%), but usage skews to short-form drafting; only 27% apply AI to long-form, 44% to ideation, and 38% to editing. Internal comms are underutilized too (about a quarter use AI to draft/respond). The report urges moving beyond basic writing to three focus areas: collaborative communication, end-to-end content production, and brand compliance—where tools like Grammarly can streamline workflows, scale quality, and keep messaging on-brand.
