The February 2023 Aite-Novarica Group report, based on a survey of 214 healthcare payer executives, assesses provider network and development practices to guide the next generation of payer-provider relationships. Findings show most functions are emerging or efficient but not best in class, with only 4% aligning priorities to build satisfactory networks. Timely payments and enrollment in ACH/EFT and ERA are crucial but often lack coordination with treasury teams. Provider directories are key to payment integrity and member satisfaction, yet 36% update them quarterly or less. Tracking disputes is growing, but standard e-remittance enrollment remains limited at 34%.
