2021 proved another tricky year for business; where many expected that 2020’s lockdowns and tumultuous workplace guidance was simply a blip on the landscape of history, COVID has lingered far beyond what anybody hoped for, or expected. Despite a handful of business leaders rushing their people back to the office, for the majority, the workplace has fundamentally changed forever, with hybrid working now taking centre stage in the narrative. Whilst we can see the beginning of the future workplace bedding in, with part-home-part-office working appealing to the masses, it’s time to reflect on what 2021 looked like for the UK’s workforce. Last year’s Learner Survey revealed that L&D took a hit in many areas, as businesses scrabbled to stay afloat in the wake of a pandemic.
