The Health Registries Program tracks survey data and outcomes for Veterans exposed to specific environmental situations during their Military Service, such as airborne hazards or open burn pits. Other registries track data and outcomes for cohort groups, such as breast cancer or hearing loss patients. VHA performs clinical surveillance among these cohort groups and uses the data to track and monitor the health of each specific group, and to study outcomes leading to improved patient care.
