Tregaseal Waste Water Treatment Works Background Kier services are a tier two contractor working with South West Water and their H5O delivery partners to deliver its Amp 6 programme. At the Tregaseal Waste Water Treatment Works in Cornwall they have an activated sludge process, and the diffuser assemblies and mixers had been affected by a large build up of rag and grit in the aeration basin. The Overall Objective The aeration ditch was to be taken offline – so there was no other treatment on site. The process equipment needed to provide the quality specified by the Environment Agency. SPS were contacted to provide a solution to supply, commission and decommission of a temporary primary treatment works to deal with the flow and reduce the suspended solids before discharging to sea.
