Peter Brett (PBA) | Transport Modelling, University of Surrey PBA’s experience with traffic signal design has helped reduce congestion impacting the A3 corridor. The University of Surrey contracted PBA to conduct a modelling review for a proposed scheme to signalise the roundabout servicing Surrey Research Park following concerns raised by the Highways Agency about the effect that congestion from the roundabout was having on the A3 corridor. After conducting the modelling review and engaging in consultation with key stakeholders, PBA identified that a more effective approach would be to entirely replace the roundabout with a signalised cross road junction to operate under MOVA traffic responsive control.
