Client: Dwr Cymru Welsh Water Scheme: Mount Farm, Whitchurch The Problem The proposed development of 100 residential units required connection to the existing sewerage network. The receiving network was already at its limit governed by a downstream CSO. The requirement was to provide system storage such that there was no increase in the pass forward flow rate. The Scope Hydraulic Modelling Assessment carried out by others on behalf of DCWW had identified 3 options. The developer had asked DCWW to pursue the design delivery for the option comprising online foul sewer upsizing with a vortex flow control device and improvements to the pumped flow by using variable speed pumps.
