Telestroke helped Franciscan Health expand access to care in underserved communities

Previously relying on two full-time neurologists, they faced challenges in providing timely stroke care due to transfer times. By implementing Teladoc's virtual care in 2020, they reduced patient transfers, increased visit volumes, and improved patient outcomes and satisfaction. The switch facilitated continuous stroke response improvements and extended virtual health services during COVID-19. This cultural shift towards virtual care also helped them recruit physicians and adopt virtual care in other medical fields.
