CarbonWrap ® SEISMIC RETROFITTING WITH LIMITED DISRUPTION Problem The Bay Area Rapid Transit System (BART) owns numerous bridges, tunnels and buildings in northern California. Many of these structures were designed before the new seismic design requirements were in place. Consequently, many of these structures are currently considered defi cient with regard to seismic forces. DowAksa CarbonWrap ® performed the fi rst-ever application of this technology for BART.
