Previously, robotic time was allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, leading to inefficiencies and disagreements among surgeons. The new system, based on historical data and best practices, provided dedicated robotic block time for high-volume surgeons while ensuring open time was accessible to others. This led to a 45% increase in robotic minutes in June 2021 compared to pre-COVID levels. Surgeons praised the new allocation as fairer and more efficient.
