North Site Utility Extension Facts Project Description Education City, a cluster of educational and research facilities, receives its water and electricity supply through an extensive underground network of tunnels. One of these is the 9 km long South Side Utility Tunnel (SSUT) which was completed in 2012. All designs were made using the Building Information Modelling (BIM) method. This required documenting the full scope of the installations in 3D. The North Side Utility Tunnel (NSUT) is a similar project where laser scanning was used to register the tunnel after construction and to adapt the 3D model as needed.
