BAI Communications operates the New South Wales Government Radio Network, one of the world’s largest critical communications systems, supporting 50 emergency service agencies across 357,000 km². Since 2013, BAI has improved availability through hardened power systems, redundant links, and ITIL-based processes, exceeding uptime targets for over 36 months. The network handles over 35,000 voice calls and 100,000 data calls daily, with 24/7 monitoring and incident response. BAI also supports the Critical Communications Enhancement Program, extending coverage to 80% of NSW, nearly 100% in urban areas, and ensuring reliable communications during major incidents like fires and floods.
