BAI Communications is partnering with Transport for London to transform the Tube into a world-leading connected transport system, investing over £1 billion across a 20-year contract. The project will deliver uninterrupted 4G and 5G-ready coverage across all stations and tunnels by 2024, supported by nine new data centers and over 1,000 km of cabling. A neutral host model ensures all operators can share the network, reducing costs and complexity. Passengers gain continuous connectivity, boosting safety, productivity, and experience, while IoT, fibre, and small cell networks enable smart city applications, supporting London’s digital inclusion, sustainability, and economic growth.
