BLACK SUMMER BUSHFIRES

BLACK SUMMER BUSHFIRES

The 2019–20 Black Summer bushfires were Australia’s worst natural disaster, burning over 24 million hectares, destroying 3000 homes, and displacing nearly three billion animals. BAI Communications played a critical role in maintaining radio and television broadcasts and supporting the NSW Public Safety Network across 27 sites in NSW and Victoria. Through teamwork with agencies like the RFS, BAI protected key sites such as Mount Nardi, deployed emergency power at Mount Elliot, and restored services at fire-damaged Mount Wandera. Their resilient infrastructure, backup systems, and collaboration ensured communities and responders stayed connected during the crisis.
