JOHNSON COUNTY AMBULANCE SERVICE Iowa City, Iowa Modernizing Ambulatory Services & Patient Care The Johnson County Ambulance Service and Medical Examiner Facility was completed in 2018 and represents a dramatic change in facilities and services available to the dynamic Iowa City community. With ambulance calls up 40% in the last 25 years, the department’s 25 members had run out of room and were parking ambulances across the street at night. In all, the department has seven ambulances, three of which were too tall to fit. High bay areas and dedicated storage have changed ambulance service.
