Itsu Heathrow Airport
For this project, Cinimod Studio were asked to re-invent the Itsu butter y once again. The brief was to create height but not obstruct views; to impress but keep to a tight budget; and to integrate with the stand below, but not compromise on the number of covers it could take. The studio designed a lightweight structure that looks to convey the motion of a butter ies as they collectively y, creating a ‘rabble’ that utters over the stand. To create a shimmering and beautiful installation the butter y wings were treated with a dichroic lm on one face; that re ects light onto the ceiling and shimmers down to the diners below, and a light catching lm on the other; to help spread the light from the ttings further up the wings.
