Case Study
Extending the Boundaries of Weather and Climate Forecasting
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) is upgrading its forecasting capabilities with a next-gen liquid-cooled HPC cluster using Lenovo ThinkSystem SD650 V2 and SD530 servers, powered by 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. This new system will deliver 50 petaFLOPS of performance—eight times faster and four times more energy efficient than KMA’s current supercomputer. The enhanced computing power will enable KMA to provide more accurate, higher-resolution weather forecasts and climate research, improving services for citizens, businesses, and government agencies across Korea.
