Eliminating the passing of paper Organizations transition from paper to electronic processes for a variety of reasons. For some, enterprise content management (ECM) is a necessity in order to comply with government and industry regulations. Others make the transition to benefit from instant, secure access to their information. A majority of organizations reduce their paper processes in order to take advantage of automation technologies. The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) for the State of Delaware’s Site Remediation Program had an overriding motivation to transition away from paper: they were overrun with files.
