The site was overlain by 15000 cubic metres of made ground and soil some of which was contaminated. The remediation strategy for the site was developed and implemented to minimise the off site disposal of soils and to utilise the hardcore within the made ground. The material was excavated and screened and crushed to produce the subsoil, suitable fill and road construction materials for the build phase.
