ARS Île-de-France, in partnership with Capgemini Invent, developed the STEP tool to manage hospital bed capacity and balance scheduled and unscheduled care during the COVID-19 crisis. STEP is a predictive tool that helps hospitals monitor bed saturation and plan resource allocation between COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients. The tool provides critical insights on available beds for both critical and conventional care, enabling hospitals to maintain occupancy below critical thresholds. This innovation supports decision-making, improves resource management, and helps healthcare providers navigate the challenges of balancing emergency care with scheduled procedures during times of uncertainty.
