Västra Götalandsregionen partnered with Capgemini and Advectas to develop an AI-based analytical model to improve patient discharge decisions in psychiatric wards. By analyzing medical data, prescriptions, demographics, and medical practices, the model helped doctors prioritize discharges while reducing the risk of patient readmission. The pilot project achieved a 40% precision rate in predicting patient relapses within 14 days and identified 50% of relapse cases. The success led to the approval of phase 2, aiming to implement the model into everyday healthcare operations.
