Cisco’s Internet of Agents proposes a new open, quantum-safe, and interoperable internet layer to support agent-to-agent and agent-human collaboration at scale. It builds on the legacy of the Internet and Cloud Internet, enabling distributed agentic computing through AI-native applications. The architecture spans three layers: AI agentic apps, a secure communication platform, and quantum-resistant infrastructure. Cisco envisions multi-agent apps working together across vendors and domains—from SaaS deployment to drug discovery. To realize this future, the industry must establish open standards, shared infrastructure, and migration paths to support AI-driven collaboration.
