It has offices in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Beijing, Hong Kong, India and the USA. It is seen as one of the principal societi es for professional engineers. The primary objecti ve of the IET is to provide a global knowledge network promoti ng the exchange of ideas and enhancing the positi ve role of science, engineering and technology within governments, academia and professional organisati ons. It is a not for profit registered charity looking to address the engineering and technological challenges facing modern society, and is a consistent and trusted source of knowledge to government.
