A FourKites and YouGov study of 250 U.S. supply chain leaders shows organizations struggle with system complexity, blind spots, and limited real-time insights. On average, companies use five systems for decisions, but 38% cite supplier network blind spots as their biggest limitation, with 58% of large firms hit hardest. Nearly 80% lack full real-time visibility, and two-thirds need four or more hours to assess disruptions, driving costs from delays and supplier issues. While 75% see AI handling up to 75% of routine tasks like carrier communications and scheduling, only 22% rate their control towers as highly effective. Companies must connect systems while balancing security, cost, and practical implementation.
