The survey revealed a projected global budget increase for data protection by 5.9% in 2022, highlighting significant investments in adapting to diverse production environments influenced by the pandemic, supply chain issues, and accelerated cloud initiatives. The study emphasized a 50/50 balance between on-premises and cloud-hosted servers as the "new normal" for modern IT, advocating for a comprehensive data protection strategy that includes physical, virtual, and multiple cloud-hosted workloads.
