The State of Identity in Australia and New Zealand

This IBRS study of 565 ANZ professionals examines identity maturity, governance trends, and delivery models. While many organizations have implemented foundational IAM technologies such as SSO and MFA, governance gaps persist. Identity decisions have shifted to senior executive levels as cybersecurity becomes a board-level issue. SaaS delivery models are increasingly preferred for scalability and economic efficiency. The report advocates establishing Identity Centres of Excellence to coordinate cross-department governance and emphasizes transitioning from compliance-driven IAM to comprehensive identity governance aligned with Zero Trust and long-term risk management.
