While many organizations have implemented foundational IAM technologies such as SSO and MFA, governance gaps persist. Identity decisions have shifted to senior executive levels as cybersecurity becomes a board-level issue. SaaS delivery models are increasingly preferred for scalability and economic efficiency. The report advocates establishing Identity Centres of Excellence to coordinate cross-department governance and emphasizes transitioning from compliance-driven IAM to comprehensive identity governance aligned with Zero Trust and long-term risk management.
