The Impact of Business Alignment on Cybersecurity Effectiveness in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and India
Delinea’s 2023 Global Survey Report for Asia shows declining confidence in cybersecurity strategies, with less than 40% of leaders in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan feeling prepared for threats. India reported the lowest confidence but the strongest business-cybersecurity alignment at 74%, 30% above the global average. Economic uncertainty has hindered alignment and forced 90% of organizations to change strategies—often by slowing investments, outsourcing, or overusing tools. Misalignment led to reduced budgets, delays, and more cyberattacks. The report urges Asian leaders to align cybersecurity with business goals, communicate value in business terms, and maintain resilience during economic challenges.
