The Growing Generation Gap: Is Innovative Talent at Risk?
The 2023 Workplace Relevance Report reveals a widening generational gap in how employees find and use information at work. Surveying 4,000 workers, it shows most spend nearly three hours daily searching across multiple systems, with 86% slowed by scattered or outdated data and 89% frustrated when they can’t find what they need. Gen Z struggles most, reporting higher rates of irrelevant information and time lost compared to Boomers. Almost half of all content found is deemed irrelevant, leading to burnout, reduced confidence, and talent at risk of disengagement. The report stresses the importance of unified search, strong knowledge management, and AI-driven tools to ensure employees can access accurate, relevant information, boosting productivity and innovation.
