Zebra Technologies’ Future of Fulfillment Vision Study reveals key insights into how manufacturers, retailers, and logistics firms are addressing omnichannel supply chain challenges amid the growing on-demand economy. The study highlights that 61% of respondents say automation is disrupting the industry, yet 55% still rely on pen and paper for managing omnichannel logistics. Inventory accuracy is estimated at only 66%, while 89% agree e-commerce is driving demand for faster delivery. Despite this, only 42% of companies report true omnichannel fulfillment capabilities today. Furthermore, 67% of logistics firms expect to offer same-day delivery by 2023, and 55% aim for two-hour delivery windows by 2028.
