The June 2023 report introduces the Banking Data & Analytics Maturity Model (bDAMM) to help banks assess, plan, and advance their data capabilities. Data mastery is defined as enterprise-wide use of data and analytics for sustained competitive advantage, with “data masters” achieving significantly higher value from their information assets. The model evaluates seven dimensions—leadership, strategy, governance, fitness, utilization, architecture, and innovation—across 21 subdimensions. Success requires maturity in all areas, with cultural change and strong leadership, governance, and utilization being especially critical .
