Keeper Security’s 2024 School Cybersecurity Report, based on a survey of 6,000 people, highlights a gap between parent confidence and actual practices. While 74% of parents trust schools to protect data, only 21% report schools offering secure password guidance, and just 9% provide password managers. Nineteen percent of families admit to reusing passwords, and only 14% of schools require cybersecurity training, leaving students vulnerable. Attacks lead to data theft (32%), stolen credentials (26%), and identity theft (24%). The report urges schools and families to collaborate on stronger practices, MFA adoption, and digital literacy education.
