Keeper Security’s Workplace Password Malpractice Report reveals widespread risky habits among employees that expose organizations to cybercrime. The survey found 62% of employees share work-related passwords through email or text, while many rely on weak, easily guessed credentials like birthdays, significant others’ names, or their employer’s name. Alarmingly, 57% write passwords on sticky notes, 55% save them on phones, 51% on computers, and 49% in the cloud. Employers also contribute, with 46% allowing new staff to use old credentials. These practices leave companies vulnerable to data breaches, account takeovers, malware, and insider threats.
