A WatchGuard and Gartner Peer Insights survey of 100 healthcare IT leaders found that nearly half faced a data breach in the past two years, mainly due to legacy systems, talent gaps, and outdated security. Top concerns for the next year include phishing (76%) and ransomware (73%). While 53% patched tools targeted in supply chain attacks, 78% experienced service disruptions or ransomware. Breaches caused operational outages, lawsuits, and data loss. Despite human error being a major factor, only 35% use identity security and just 24% have MFA, highlighting a critical gap in healthcare’s cybersecurity posture.
