The 2023 Enterprise Bot Fraud Benchmark Report reveals a 102 percent increase in bad bot traffic even as legitimate human activity dropped 28 percent year over year. Automated attacks surged, with account takeovers up 134 percent, carding up 107 percent, and scraping up 108 percent. Media, travel, and ticketing industries saw 57, 49, and 46 percent of traffic driven by bots, respectively. Attackers favored desktop devices and U.S.-based proxy servers, accounting for 69 percent of global malicious traffic. Peak attack activity was 199 percent higher than average, highlighting the growing sophistication and frequency of automated fraud.
