Digital Realty’s Climate Neutral Data Center Pact report outlines its commitment to achieving climate neutrality in EU data centers by 2030. As a signatory of the Pact, Digital Realty focuses on seven sustainability pillars: energy efficiency, clean energy, water conservation, circular economy practices, heat recycling, ESG monitoring, and sustainability communications. It has exceeded PUE targets, uses 100% renewable electricity in Europe, reduced water usage intensity by 7%, and repurposes construction materials. The company also supports district heating, launched a new ESG data platform, and received a Certificate of Conformity for meeting Pact standards.
