Overview Founded as Britain’s first polytechnic in 1838, the University of Westminster is a diverse center for study located in central London. The Uni versity offers 300 degree courses across un dergraduate, postgraduate and research levels, and continues to innovate as it recognizes new needs in its many target markets. Its seven schools span a broad range of academic disciplines, from architecture to electronics and from computer science to business studies. Challenge The University of Westminster offers both full- and part-time courses and consequently has a very large population of students. This creates the significant challenge of managing approximately 70,000 student accounts alongside 5,000 permanent staff accounts and up to 2,000 temporary staff accounts.
