The positions ran dry, and competitor doctor blades were unable to go from shutdown to shutdown. Numerous blades were trialed, but none were able to last to the next shutdown. Solution The Ultra C doctor blade was recommended as a replacement because it can self-lubricate and allows for greatly extended blade life in these positions. Results Using the Ultra C doctor blade means mill personnel do not have to change blades between shutdowns, resulting in increased machine efficiency and uptime.
