© 2019 Kadant Solutions Division Challenge A linerboard machine in the U.S. previously ran a competitor’s carbon and glass blades on their calender and breaker stacks. The machine’s thread-up process can be abusive on blades and there were frequent delamination issues with doctor blades. The machine ran at 2,400 fpm and used AccuTekTM doctor blade holders in these positions are very hot, which limits the available blade materials. Solution The nPak C doctor blade was installed and it not only lasted six weeks, but also had no delamination. Additionally, the rolls look better than they have in years.
